Job title: Manager - Science and Innovation Operations Department of Science and Innovation Salary: Up to £53000 Contract: 6-month FTC Hunter Merrifield are currently looking for a Science and Innovation Operations Manager for a Science membership organisation in the UK. As background, the Science and Innovation department work currently spans: Member-led programmes and networks Events led by members in REMNet, Groups, Nations and Branches Business programme including Accelerator Awards Data insights Impact projects The Science and Innovation Operations Manager will: Provide interim line management and professional development support to our team working on member-led and community focused programmes Assemble new teams and onboard talent to boost our physics programme and strengthen our community engagement across academia and business Develop our evolving operational model to drive innovation and impact, including building agile teams with colleagues from across the IOP, and initiate internships and secondments to open up knowledge sharing and professional development opportunities Lead a number of projects as part of our physics programme which will involve community consultations to gather insights to scope and shape our work.Person specification: Track record in leadership and management with strong people and project management skills Has a drive for results, who can be counted on to meet or exceed goals successfully Can manage and measure work effectively, taking responsibility for tasks and decisions Is customer focussed and dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers Has domain knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment Is committed to their personal learning, picking up on the need to change personal, interpersonal, and where applicable managerial behaviour quickly Strong line management and project management skills as well as experience in managing community / stakeholder engagements, eg running workshops and roundtables to consult and gather community insights Experience in building high performing teams and optimising business processes Skilled in supporting individuals and teams to successfully manage operational change Project/programme management qualification or equivalent experienceFor more information on the role, please contact Akash at Hunter Merrifield.
