Vacancy Summary Job Title: Managing Quantity Surveyor Job Type: Permanent Job Ref: Location: Norfolk Salary: c£75k-£80k basic plus competitive package Company & Project: A recognised regional Main Contractor with a key project win in Norfolk have a unique opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their business leading a flagship project. Due to a strong period of successful contract awards, they require an exceptional construction professional to work in a key role in their business structure, with the opportunity to lead a team of surveyors and work on a project c£30m+. The company are looking for a candidate that has experience managing others and is looking to make a decisive step in their career. They will consider experienced Senior QS candidates looking for a step up or proven Managing QS candidates. The role includes both managing a small team and also hands on surveying on larger projects, overseeing a team of surveyors delivering the project. Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing surveyors across the commercial management functions on projects in excess of £20m, from procurement of subcontractors, measurement & valuations, through to processing monthly applications for payment, handling claims and variations. You will also be expected to report at a senior level to directors and help build the team and overall growth of the office. Desirable Experience: - Minimum 5 years experience as a Senior or Managing QS on projects c£20m+ . - Excellent negotiation skills and previous experience procuring subcontractors. - Strong track record managing other surveyors. - Previous Roles: Senior Quantity Surveyor OR Managing QS OR Senior QS OR Quantity Surveyor. Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or comparable qualification.
